MARIE-LAURENCE LUPIEN
Violinist • Composer • Artist-Researcher

ABOUT
Marie-Laurence Lupien is a Canadian violinist, composer, and researcher whose work lies at the intersection of musical creation and human experience.
A summa cum laude graduate of Berklee College of Music, she has developed an artistic path rooted in composition, improvisation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Over the years, she has taken part in a wide range of musical and artistic projects, including performances, recording projects, live music for theatre and circus, and collaborations with artists from diverse cultural and musical backgrounds.
Today, her artistic creation extends into research-creation. As a doctoral researcher in Sustainable Health and Artistic Practices at Université Laval, she explores how musical composition can engage with emotions, human needs, and lived experience. Her approach brings art into dialogue with interdisciplinary research, considering music not only as a form of expression, but also as a way of exploring, understanding, and giving form to different dimensions of human life.
